Tensions between the White House and Illinois have erupted into a full-blown confrontation. Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller delivered a stark warning to Gov. JB Pritzker and other state officials — interfere with ICE, and face federal prosecution. Appearing on Fox News, Miller accused Pritzker of crossing a dangerous line by obstructing immigration enforcement, warning that such actions could trigger charges as severe as seditious conspiracy, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Miller didn’t mince words. “Anybody who lays a hand on an ICE officer or obstructs them is committing a felony,” he said, vowing that justice will be served. The threat follows Pritzker’s creation of an “Accountability Commission” to monitor ICE — a move Miller blasted as political theater. As the feud intensifies, one thing is clear: the battle over immigration enforcement has reached a boiling point, and neither side shows any sign of backing down.
